Remove Blackberry IT Policy With AppLoader

unlockHave you ever had your phone have an IT policy on it and you didn’t want to do the procedure to download policy.bin, do some registry editing and reload your phone? Well we have the perfect solution for you! This is one of the simplest ways to removing an IT policy that we have ever seen.

Remember, you are doing this at your own risk, we will not be held responsible for what happens to you phone.

First things first, do a backup of your phone first, this is a crucial step so you can restore it at the end since this resets your phone to factory defaults.

Once you have done that, close desktop manager and open a command prompt. You can do this by holding down your Windows Key and hitting “R” than typing in the run box “cmd” and click on OK.

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common FIles\Research in Motion\AppLoader\ by typing “cd c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader”. You should now be at the prompt saying “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader>”

There is no turning back now after you type the following command. When you are ready type in “loader.exe /resettofactory” and press enter. You may be prompted to enter in your password, enter it in to continue.

Once this is process is done, your phone will be wiped with a fresh clean operating system on it.

Be careful when you restore your phone. Make sure when you open desktop manager, you click on “Backup and Restore” and choose Advanced. Load in your backup file and on the left side scroll down to where it says “Policy”, select it and click Delete. Now select all items and click on the button to restore it to your phone. When the popup comes up, make sure Policy is not included. Click on Yes to proceed.

Once this is done, you will have a fresh blackberry with no IT policy on it.

Enjoy!
