If you have ever used Widgets on your WordPress site, you are likely in the same boat as many other people. You think it would be nice to have the Meta widget active so you can display a login/logout link, link to admin panel etc, but you quickly find out, it has a link to wordpress.org in it. This isn’t such a big deal for most, but for some, they don’t want that link on there page at all, for unexplained reasons. Sure, you can go ahead and edit wp-includes/default-widgets.php or whichever file it is, but you would have to do that after every upgrade of WordPress, tedious I know. To the rescue comes this handy dandy simple little plugin that will simply create a new widget for you. It is exactly the same as the Meta widget, just no WordPress.org link in it.
All you need to do is download the below file and extract to your wp-content/plugins directory, than activate the plugin in your admin panel under plugins. After which you will find a new Widget to add to your Widget-Ready theme which you can call whatever you like. If you have any issue with the plugin, please let us know here.
