Toronto Blue Jays owner Ted Rogers has passed away at the age of 75. Ted was admitted to hospital back on October 30th for an ongoing heart problem, but was said to be recovering nicely after he was released. It was with sad news to hear today that he had passed away in his Toronto area home.
Ted was determined to out live his father who passed away at age 38, and was determined to develop a communications empire, Rogers succeeded at both.
Rogers created an ever growing $11 billion media giant which includes, but not limited to five television stations, several small trade magazines, more than 50 radio stations, a 75 million subscriber wireless company, cable television and a professional baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays.
It is said that over 50 percent of the revenue of Rogers Communications comes from its ever growing wireless phone division.
Ted will be sadly missed.
