Did you all go and get your copy of the recently released Firefox 3 web browser by Mozilla? It was released on Tuesday at 11:16am and had over 8 million downloads in 24 hours. The Guiness Book of World Records is reviewing the reports to see whether or not it has beat the previous record, does anyone know what the previous record was and what is was held by?
Mozilla stated long ago that they wanted to set a world record for most downloads in 24 hours when they released the highly anticipated Firefox 3. The downloads peaked at around 14,000 downloads PER MINUTE, which than settled down Wednesday to around 6,000 downloads per minute. That is truly unbelievable. I hope everything all works out well for Mozilla, I know I won’t be going back to using IE anytime soon, thats one of the first things I do now on a new machine, download Firefox!
