According to reports at Variery.com, Ray Romano is set to return to television on TNT in a new series titled “Men of a Certain Age”. The show is said to be a one hour comedy, with a rare move by TNT to go straight to pilot from script. The show will focus on three men in there 40′s who have been friends since college, who are going through all sorts of midlife crisis’. The show is being wrote by Ray Romano himself and Mike Royce, who both will also serve as executive producers.
Mike Wright who is in charge of content creation for the Turner networks said the series is all about the ups and downs of a guy in the modern era. It’s all about the three guys who try to have their dreams come true before there time starts running out, a very funny, emotional, honest and personal take on the subject.
Some specifics on the show, Ray Romano will be playing a guy named Joe. Joe is a wound up dad who is divorced that once hoped to be a professional golfer, except he ended up owning a party store. Joe’s two best friends include a dad who is car salesman that is stressed out, and an aspiring actor.
Chances are the show will be given the green light, and if it does, it will be Romanos first regular television series since “Everybody Loves Raymond”, which ended in May of 2005.
